RECYCLAGE LITHION WINS AWARD AT CES 2019 IN LAS VEGAS

MONTREAL (Quebec), January 9, 2019 - The seventh season of the 10,000 Startups to Change the World Prize was launched in Las Vegas, on the sidelines of CES, the world's largest technology trade show. Five startups received awards.

The 10,000 Startups to Change the World Award is back! To kick off its seventh edition, the tech event organized by La Tribune and BNP Paribas kicks off its tour in Las Vegas, alongside CES. Before touring France's finest startups, the jury, made up of representatives from Enedis, WeHealth by Servier, Arkéa, RATP and OuiSncf, awarded prizes to five French startups exhibiting at CES.

In the Energy category, the jury singled out Quebec start-up Lithion Recycling. This Canadian nugget has developed a process for recycling all types of lithium-ion batteries, from consumer electronics to electric vehicles. In this way, 95% of components can be recycled.

In the Protech/Smart building category, French startup Bonjour + was the jury's favorite. The startup has developed a connected intercom system that lets you interact with visitors from your smartphone even when you're away, give a QR code that unlocks the door for authorized visitors, or send an alert when someone is lurking suspiciously near your home.

In the Mobility/Transport category, the winner is Quebec's Smart Halo. This Montreal-based product aims to change cyclists' daily lives. Simply attach it to your handlebars and connect it to your smartphone to make your bike intelligent, with navigation, an anti-theft alarm and automatic night lighting.

In the Health category, Belgian start-up Intersysto won over the jury with its solution to help seniors stay at home. Its interactive tool, "3S Homecare", enables patients to be better cared for by homecare providers such as doctors, nurses, physiotherapists and domestic helpers, thanks to a tablet that enables patients to organize themselves and professionals to record their actions as they go along.

Finally, in the Smart city category, the jury rewarded French start-up Parkki. The Lille-based nugget can aggregate parking data in city parking lots, and informs users of its app in real time to prevent them from driving in circles for half an hour.
